Wellah Women - Aboriginal Women's Health and Happiness Project (Ngarrimili)
Here at Spark, we love getting 'Wellah' with the mob! Wellah Women is an Aboriginal Women's Health and Happiness Project that has been delivered to Aboriginal women in the Northern and Western suburbs of Melbourne.
The program is delievered over 8 weeks in a safe space that creates opportunities for Aboriginal women to get healthier and happier! Sessions include amazing guest speakers, awesome workouts, a chance to get your hands on some Clothing The Gap merchandise and most importantly, the opportunity to meet and connect with fellow sistergirls.
Each Wellah Woman who attends six out of the eight program sessions will receive their very own Wellah Women (Ngarimilli) training singlet!
In September 2019 we launched Wellah Women in Bundoora!
Over the eight weeks, these deadly women came together to connect and share the experience of getting healthier and happier. We featured amazing guest speakers such as Yolanda Finette, Courtney Ugle, Karen Hill and Anita North who all brought that little something special to the program.
Ngarrimili went West Side!
In October 2018 we launched our first Aboriginal Women's health & well-being project in Melton!
We came together for 8 weeks in a safe space to get healthier and happier! We heard from so many amazing speakers and finished up every session with a fun workout!
What our Deadly Melton Sistas had to say about Ngarrimili!
'Ngarrimili' is a Wadawurrung word meaning 'to dance'! And dance we did at our Ngarrimilli graduation in week 8. We partied with our Melton Sistas and celebrated how amazing these women had been throughout the program each and every single week!
We were honoured to have The Merindas bring the sassy powerful energy to really hit our graduation off!
