Wellah Women - Aboriginal Women's Health and Happiness Project

Here at Spark, we love getting 'Wellah' with the mob! Wellah Women is an Aboriginal Women's Health and Happiness Project that has been delivered to Aboriginal women in the Northern and Western suburbs of Melbourne and online.

The program is delivered over 8 weeks in a safe space that creates opportunities for Aboriginal women to get healthier and happier! Sessions include amazing guest speakers, awesome workouts, a chance to get your hands on some Clothing The Gap merchandise and most importantly, the opportunity to meet and connect with fellow sistergirls.

We think there is something special about feeling safe and empowered in health and happiness and standing alongside your Sistergirls with no shame!
Stay tuned and keep checking in for when we announce our next Wellah Women location and dates!

Where we have been!

Wellah Women Online Retreat - April 2020

In April 2020 when Corona virus hit the world and people started working from home, we wanted to make sure we were still able to bring people together! So we came to Aboriginal Women through their screens with the Wellah Women Online Retreat.
We brushed up on our TV acting skills and produced eight weekly episodes featuring our very own Spark Health fam and other guest speakers. We also hung out live online through Zoom once a week with some fun activities and to have a yarn and catch up with one another.
Check out what some of the women had to say about the online retreat!
Wellah Women in the North

Wellah Women North

In September 2019 we launched Wellah Women in Bundoora!

Over the eight weeks, these deadly women came together to connect and share the experience of getting healthier and happier. We featured amazing guest speakers such as Yolanda Finette, Courtney Ugle, Karen Hill and Anita North who all brought that little something special to the program.

Ngarrimili went West Side!

Ngarimilli Melton Aboriginal Women Spark Health

In October 2018 we launched our first Aboriginal Women's health & well-being project in Melton!

We came together for 8 weeks in a safe space to get healthier and happier! We heard from so many amazing speakers and finished up every session with a fun workout!

What our Deadly Melton Sistas had to say about Ngarrimili!

"Since I've been attending, I've made a lot of changes in my life and I have more strength thanks to all my beautiful sisters love and supports"

"The program is really motivating me and I look forward to Monday! It’s giving me information, stories, ideas to work on myself and set goals"

"Love the fact we are surrounded by amazing, strong, resilient women who can all support each other"

Ngarrimili Graduation

'Ngarrimili' is a Wadawurrung word meaning 'to dance'! And dance we did at our Ngarrimilli graduation in week 8. We partied with our Melton Sistas and celebrated how amazing these women had been throughout the program each and every single week!

We were honoured to have The Merindas bring the sassy powerful energy to really hit our graduation off!
